In the morning we're meeting at Ala Too square in Bishkek and starting our breathtaking journey to Son Kol. The road is gonna take us about 4 hours so picturesque views are ensured.
Itinerary
1 day
Bishkek - Burana Tower - Konorchek canyon - Son Kol lake
On the way, we’re stopping by Tokmok town (80km) to have a glance at the famous Burana Tower. This ancient structure was built in the 11th century to serve as a watching tower and is therefore quite worth your visit. Here we’ll spend about 40 minutes enjoying a superb view from the top of the tower, walking around to see balbals (gravestones with depictions) and visiting the archaeology museum. Resuming the road. Visiting the picturesque Konorchek canyon for a light but awesome hike with some otherworldly views. Lunch on the way. Moving on to Son Kol through serpentine mountain passes. Arrival and check in to a yurt camp. Now it’s time to explore the lake itself, its green pastures and the enchanting landscape. Horseback riding on the alpine meadows. Dinner. Bonfire time and stargazing. Overnight in yurts (traditional Kyrgyz dwelling).

Son Kol lake - Kochkor town - Orto Tokoi reservoir - Bishkek
In the morning after breakfast we’re going to start exploring Son Kol a bit deeper. Free time for walking around and even swimming (summer season). After several hours of perfect meditation we’re starting our way back to Bishkek. Descending down the mountain passes. Lunch in Kochkor town. Moving on. Stop by the turquoise Orto Tokoi reservoir. Moving on. Arrival in the capital city. Drop off at your hotel (not included). This is the end of our short but charming tour, thank you very much!
